The INTERNATIONAL DIXIELAND FESTIVAL Dresden mourns the loss of a long-time team member and enthusiastic Dixieland fan
In deep sorrow, the entire team of the INTERNATIONAL DIXIELAND FESTIVAL bids farewell to Georg Seidemann, who passed away unexpectedly and far too soon. For over four decades, he accompanied and significantly shaped the festival with great dedication.
Georg “Sandmann” Seidemann was active in key areas – as a creator, a reliable supporter in the background, and an essential part of the “hard core” of the festival organizers. His commitment extended far beyond the actual festival week and included numerous other events in the festival's environment.
In addition to his organizational work, he remained connected to the festival as an enthusiastic Dixieland fan. Professionally active at our main sponsor Feldschlößchen AG, he embodied the close connection between the festival, partners, and audience.
The INTERNATIONAL DIXIELAND FESTIVAL loses a highly esteemed collaborator in Georg Seidemann, whose experience and personality are irreplaceable. In gratitude for his many years of support, we honor his memory and feel sincerely connected to his family.
