The Hoftheater Dresden is a private theater in Dresden’s Weißig district. It was founded in 1995 by actor Rolf Hoppe and has since been operated by the Kultur- und Kunstverein Schönfelder Hochland e.V. association.

The program is guided by Rolf Hoppe’s artistic standards. He explicitly saw the Hoftheater not as a cabaret venue, but as a stage for high culture, with the spatial and technical capacity to host guest performances by established theaters in studio and chamber-theater format.

In addition to performances in the former barn, events have also been held since autumn 2003 on a wooden stage in the vaulted former cow stable. The courtyard area is still used as a theater venue in summer, weather permitting.

The area between the cowshed vault and the theater barn was developed into a theater foyer, which is regularly used for art exhibitions.
